Event Summary:

This is a follow up event based on the success at our Intellectual Property Rights in the Biotech Industry conference held in June last year. This year’s conference will take IPR one step further from freedom-to-operate to find the best ways to protect your company’s most valuable assets, patents, through efficient patent enforcement strategies.

A patent has a limited life cycle of 20 years from the date of application. By adding new products your company is able to optimise protection throughout the entire patent life cycle and extend the life cycle to avoid generic competition.

Life sciences are a dynamic industry driven by innovation to cure human’s health. Both big pharmaceuticals and small biotech companies need to have a patent enforcement strategy to improve the original innovation in order to stay ahead of your competitors.

A strong IPR strategy that combines both pro-active patent enforcement and patent life cycle management strategies ensures your company further growth and inventions in a highly competitive business environment, the Life Sciences industry.

This international one day-conference will examine the role of patent enforcement to successfully design strategies that protects and extends the life of your biotechnological innovations. A speaker panel with world-leading biopharmaceuticals will provide your company with a platform to strengthen the role of IPR in order to maximise the protection of your company’s patents in the 21st century.

This conference will tackle key issues such as:

  • Adopting a pro-active IPR strategy to extend your patent life cycle
  • Examining third party patents from a biological point of view to claim your own drugs in antibodies
  • Developing an IPR strategy to maximise the protection of your innovative discoveries
  • Examining future initiatives to develop a community patent within the European Union
  • Extending the life cycle of your patent to minimise biogeneric competition
