Event Summary:

Supply chain finance is the next frontier to enhance collaboration between trading counterparties by achieving visibility on information related to financial transactions through electronic invoicing. A collaborative supply chain finance strategy helps a company to release valuable working capital in the payables, receivables and inventory management processes. To foster collaborative financing, banks and corporations seek for legally binding risk mitigation instruments for trade that for instance enable a company to finance its own suppliers getting dynamic discounting in return. SWIFT's Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) is an example of this mechanism. Collaborative supply chain finance is the driving force to move e-Invoicing from concept to practical value and reality.

Co-operation between buyers, sellers and bank partners is needed to standardise e-Invoicing formats and build a critical mass of volume to lower transaction costs. By automating payment processing companies are able to save the equivalent of at least 1-2 percent of their annual turnover. By centralising cash-to-trade processes through payment hubs, companies are able to release significant amount of cash trapped in working capital cycles throughout a global business organisation. Electronic invoicing is the next step to link up the financial supply chain with the physical supply chain.

This flagship event will present first hand experiences from industry leaders to customise early payment programmes to bring down total costs in the supply chain and increase your company's profits. Our cross-industry speaker panel will provide your organisation with guidelines to accelerate collaboration between finance, purchasing, sales and trade partners to fully capitalise on payables discounting and on receivables to build a healthy supply base in a down turn economy.

This event will tackle key issues such as:

  • Capitalising on the use of financial instruments to optimise working capital of supply chain processes
  • Adopting BPO to establish a legally binding collaborative model between buyer, seller and bank trade partners in a global business environment
  • Connecting physical and financial value chains through an Internet-based supply portal to provide your supply chain partners with early payment options
  • Mastering a collaborative supply chain finance strategy to identify win-win situations with your strategic suppliers
  • Financing your strategic suppliers from Pre-Shipment to Post-Shipment to maximise buyer and seller's cash-to-cash cycles
  • Designing a supply chain finance programme to offer your company's key suppliers with early payment options from a third party
  • Identifying bank trade partners with a global presence to provide suppliers with a low-cost source of funding
  • Mastering supplier financial solutions to remove liquidity bottlenecks in your supply chain network
  • Examining best practices to efficiently collect your receivables and maintaining a healthy collaborative relationship with clients
  • Examining current status and future trends in the e-Invoicing space to drive supply chain innovation through collaborative supply chain financing
